It’s not enough just to write well anymore; authors also need to be entrepreneurs. This short workshop will provide an introduction to the business side of being an author today. We’ll cover basic terms to watch for in agreements with literary agents and publishers; the essentials of tracking income and expenses for tax purposes; and building an author platform at the early stages of your writing career. Time will be allotted for questions.
Paul Durham is an award-winning novelist whose books for young readers are published by HarperCollins and Penguin Random House.
The workshop will be held at 302 Robert Frost Hall at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Cost: $25 for NHWP members, $40 for nonmembers.
